Not all people have allergies. An allergy is a reaction of your body on things that are not usually harmful to other people. These things are called allergens and these include dust, mold, pollen and animal dander. These things can be found almost anywhere we go. Knowing whether we are allergic to these things will be helpful.

Allergies are usually categorized as mild, moderate or severe degrees. Depending on your specific immune system reaction, so will the degree of your allergy symptoms be. Mild allergic reactions will cause one to have rashes, congestion and watery eyes among others. In moderate reactions, one will seen to have difficulty in breathing accompanied with itchiness and rashes. In severe cases, one will have difficulty breathing and swallowing; he will also feel dizzy with vomiting and diarrhea experienced.

Indeed having an allergy is not a good experience. For many, allergic reactions are un-welcomed experiences. Dealing with the symptoms, no matter how minor are a nuisance. Not only do allergic reactions bother the individual in personal matters it will definitely affect his job. There will be cases that one having allergies will have to leave from work in order to take a rest and take his medications.

In order to proactively address your allergic reactions, remember the usual causes of your allergy. Ask, study and consult for ways to deal with these. The best way to deal with this is always prevention. Knowing what will cause your allergies is the first step; knowing how to effectively deal with the causes or triggers will be your second step.

In addressing dust in your homes, especially in your room, make sure to always keep the place clean. Avoid placing unnecessary things inside your room especially if it is not as spacious as you would like it. Keep the things in your room to a minimum. It would be best and perhaps necessary that you vacuum your room regularly especially if you use carpets there. Do not let dusts accumulate in your room. If you cannot find the time, let someone do it for you the important thing is that your sleeping area will be free from dust or kept to a minimum.

For mold as a cause for your allergic reaction, you can prevent this by keeping the area dry or by controlling the humidity of the place. Indoor trashcans should be regularly taken cared of, shower curtains kept clean and so should the bathroom windows. Ensure there is good circulation of air to help prevent the formation of mold.

There is also pollen as a cause of allergy. As this will travel through air, it is best that you shower before you go to sleep so that pollens on your hair and skin will be washed away. This will prevent you from inhaling these. It will also be to your benefit if you use air conditioners at home especially during dry and windy days. Traveling by car and using its air conditioner will be best for you if you know you are allergic to pollens.

Then there is pet dander and if this is the cause of your allergy, you may have to keep your pets outside. You may also ask the advice of your veterinarian as to how to go about controlling pet dander at home. You will find it to your benefit to bath your pet as regularly as you can. Such will control your exposure to pet dander.
